How do I create a second management company?
Add another management company to your organization and switch between companies from the header.
Purpose
Rentivue supports multiple management companies under one organization. Each company is a fully separate workspace: its own properties, owners, users, finances, module settings, and branding. This article shows how to create a second (or third) company and how to move between companies.
Who can use this
Administrators with the "Manage company" permission (company.manage). If you do not see the option, ask your administrator to create the company or grant you the permission.
Steps
- 1Click the company name in the top header to open the company selector.
- 2Choose "New company" (this opens the Create Company page at /companies/new).
- 3Enter the new company's name and basic profile details.
- 4Save. You are made the new company's administrator and switched into it automatically.
- 5Set up the new company's profile under Settings > Company.
- 6Turn on the modules the new company needs under Settings > Modules & Features.
- 7Invite the users who should work in this company under Settings > Users.
Important notes
- Each company has its OWN properties, owners, users, finance data, and settings. Nothing is shared between companies automatically.
- A user can belong to more than one company. Their role and permissions are set per company.
- Switch between companies at any time with the company selector in the header. Everything you see (dashboard, properties, reports) always belongs to the currently selected company.
- Creating a company requires the company.manage permission. If the "New company" option is missing from your company selector, you do not have this permission — contact your administrator.
Common mistakes
- Creating a second company when you only need a second property. Companies are fully separate workspaces; properties live inside one. See the article on companies vs properties.
- Expecting users to carry over. Users must be invited to each company they should access.

- Can I move a property from one company to another?
- Not from the UI today. Contact support and we can assist with a data migration.
- Does a second company cost extra?
- Companies are covered by your subscription plan; check Settings > Subscription for your plan's limits.
