Module & Feature Settings

What happens if I turn off a module?

Turning a module off hides it from everyone in the company — data is always preserved.

Purpose

Explains exactly what changes — and what does not — when you disable a module under Settings > Modules & Features.

Answer

Disabling a module hides it; it never deletes anything.

When a module is turned off: - Its menu items disappear from the navigation for everyone in the company. - Its screens return users to the dashboard if opened via a saved link. - Its server operations are blocked, so nothing new can be created in that module. - Scheduled work tied to the module (reminders, syncs) pauses.

What is preserved, untouched: - All records the module created (reservations, statements, tickets, campaigns, and so on). - All financial history. Amounts already posted to ledgers and statements remain. - All documents and audit-log history.

Re-enabling the module restores the menus and data exactly as they were.

Steps

  1. 1Go to Settings > Modules & Features (/settings/modules).
  2. 2Toggle the module off. Read any dependency warning carefully — modules that depend on it are listed.
  3. 3Confirm. The navigation updates immediately.

Important notes

  • Dependencies matter: disabling Finance also blocks modules built on it (for example Owner Statements). Rentivue warns you before you confirm.
  • Disabling a module does not refund or change your subscription; manage plans under Settings > Subscription.
  • If a teammate reports a "missing" feature after a module change, that is expected — see "Why can't I see a menu or feature?".

FAQ

Can I export a module's data before turning it off?
Yes, and you can also export afterwards — data stays in place either way. Use the module's export options or Settings > Account > Data export.
