A cleaner cannot see their task
Cleaning task invisible to the cleaner: assignment, login, permission, or company mismatch.
Purpose
A cleaning task exists in STR > Cleaning, but the cleaner says their list is empty. Cleaners only see tasks assigned to them — start there.
Possible causes
- The task was created but never ASSIGNED to that cleaner.
- It was assigned to a different cleaner record (duplicates with similar names).
- The cleaner's login lacks the cleaning-read permission or has a deny override.
- The cleaner logged into the wrong company (if they work for more than one).
- The task's date is outside the range/filter their list shows.
- The task was already completed or cancelled.
How to check
- 1Open the task in STR > Cleaning and check the assignee field.
- 2Search for duplicate cleaner records or user accounts with the same name.
- 3An admin verifies the cleaner's role and permissions under Settings > Users.
- 4Confirm which company the cleaner is signed into.
- 5Ask the cleaner to clear date filters on their task list.
How to fix
- 1Assign (or re-assign) the task to the correct cleaner and have them refresh.
- 2Merge or correct duplicate cleaner accounts, and re-assign tasks to the surviving account.
- 3Grant the missing permission or remove the deny override.
- 4Have the cleaner switch to the correct company.
When to contact support
If a task is assigned to the right cleaner with confirmed permissions and still does not appear on their list, contact support (category: Maintenance issue) with the task and the cleaner's user email.
Important notes
- The assignee-only view is intentional — cleaners see their own work, not the whole company's schedule.
